When dealing with exhibit transportation, a common question is whether to containerize or not. To find the answer ask yourself these three questions:
1. How often will I use the exhibit?
If your exhibit travels from show to show, you should consider using crates. If, however, your exhibit only goes out once or twice a year, it may not be worth the extra cost to have it containerized.
2. Will the exhibit be stored for any length of time?
If the answer is yes, containerizing the exhibit might be best. If un-crated, your exhibit can get dirty, or worse, end up with missing or lost parts.
3. How do I protect my exhibit if it's not containerized?
Premiere is very experienced in handling and transporting valuable exhibits. We provide pad wrapping for non containerized shipments; however, the rate to move a pad wrapped exhibit is higher than a containerized one. Pad wrapping often allows you to get the exhibit into less van space and it also allows for faster assembly and dismantling.
Even though you could be saving more time with pad wrap it is wise to consult with your moving team and exhibit builder. Both can give you important suggestions on whether to containerize or not.
